Please wait...Make your home work better, feel better, and cost less to live in
Is your home built to the highest construction standards? Unless it was built after July 2011, it most likely does not meet current building codes for air infiltration, duct leakage, quality of insulation, equipment efficiency -- all the things that make your house use more energy without achieving optimum interior comfort.
Building performance professionals bring the latest research and methods to making homes work as efficiently as possible, making the interior more comfortable and saving your energy dollars. See the articles below to learn how to make your dream home operate like a dream.

NBPP becomes Efficiency First Nevada Chapter
NBPP is pleased to announce our establishment as a chapter of Efficiency First, a national nonprofit trade association that unites the varied participants in the Home Performance industry to fight against rising energy costs and global warming.
Efficiency First is instrumental in national initiatives to help homeowners improve the performance of their homes while lowering energy costs and usage, and promote creation of good jobs in the energy retrofit industry.
Residential efficiency improvements can reduce energy waste in most homes by 20 to 40 percent. Improving the efficiency of America’s 128 million homes can generate unlock significant reductions in building-related greenhouse gas emissions and improve national security by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, while generating long-term energy savings for American consumers.
Expansion of the Home Performance industry also aids economic recovery of the construction and manufacturing sectors, which have been hit hard by the recent recession. Consumer demand for efficiency retrofits creates local jobs that cannot be outsourced overseas, while stimulating manufacturing of building materials primarily made by American workers.
Efficiency First deals with legislators, lenders, manufacturers, and industry nonprofits to promote incentives, financing sources for energy upgrades, and high industry standards.
For Nevada, the new chapter will provide strong support for efficiency programs in coalescing the varied participants of the energy efficiency and home performance industries, and an experienced hand in raising public awareness, with all the benefits these will bring to homeowners and the Nevada economy.
